Hip-Hop Is Dead (the official t-shirt)

Hip-hop isn't dead, even though nostalgic music critics rehash that angle every few months. What keeps dying though is our best artists, while flakes like Ja-Rule are alive and well.

Celebrate our fallen soldiers with this t-shirt from The Hundreds, sold at Digital Gravel:

Here's their description of the t-shirt:

This dope new tee from The Hundreds features a stenciled print on the front that reads "Hip-Hop is Dead". The back print features a collage of Hip-Hop's finest fallen soldiers: 2Pac, Eazy-E, Big L, Big Pun, Jam Master Jay and Biggie. The text below it all reads "Remember. In a culture run amuck with mass commercialism and pop trend-chasing, it's imperative to not only remember where we've come from, but where we're at, and where we're headed."

If they had one size larger I would cop it in a second.

That's the one thing I hate about digital gravel -- they never have t-shirts for the big men -- size XXXL, at least.

Kind of a macambe t-shit to be walking around in.

Looks like a shirt that white hipsters living in Brooklyn trying to be "ironic" would wear. It is kind of macarbre too but, both those things being said, I can't dimiss the sentiment on it outright or say 100% that I that I never wear it either.

Anyone on the face of this Earth who may think that Hip Hop is dead, needs to face reality. Hip Hop is here to stay and to all those positive Hip Hop fans, fallow the teachings of KRS One and help bring the positive aspects of Hip Hop that Hip Hop was established on, back to our communities.

i think that its a tight shirt, when you look around, ask yourself where is hip hop going? the only mc's keeping it alive are common, kweli, mos def. you can't forget about guru, gifted unlimited rhymes universal!!!! I watched brown sugar a while back, and after it was over, i really couldn't remember hearing a song that moved me the way rakim did or public enemy, or slick rick to name a few. i guess its like my mother told me " you got catch it and embrace it, and preserve it like photos." Because once its gone all you have is its memories!!!!!!

I want that shirt bad. Well if anyone really thinks about it, hip hop as a business is dead. At 1st hip hop was a way to strayt from drugs and guns and now the dealers and gangstas took that over too. It's just another hustle for them and they won. Common, mos, talib, little brother, and ME :) are still keepin it real. Although, hip hop isn't expression no more. Its purely entertainment and its creating acceptance for the low lives and not inspiring them to go further.

I think the shirt really makes more conscious about how mainstream and different hip hop is now. Plus it looks sweet.

hip hop isnt dead just the damn south artists with no skill bringing that garbage snap music and thier rims. we need the true artists that never gave into the gimmick like mos def & talib kweli

Stop blaming the South for killing Hip-Hop! Its everyones fault! We need to take back our music people! Corporate America is killing hip hop! And thats the truth! We have to force the labels to give us somthing with substance instead of sitting back and just complaining how bad the music is right now.

Real Talk!

PEOPLE!!! WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO HIP-HOP?!?! Hip-hop just used to be PURE music! Now we rapping about "HOs" and "JEWELLRY"??? These NEW artists are even rapping about killing people! Now HIP-HOP is in the CRITICAL state!! These new artists are killing it.. rappers are turning to the pop style... some rock style.... PEOPLE ARENT DOING A THING!!!

Nas said it best HIP HOP IS DEad.......THe people below me just made the case...

thats right hip hop is dead been dead since all them real gangsta, mcs, djs, rappers died rip hip hop

Hey, do they have any of these shirts for females?

Does anyone know where I can get one of these t-shirts now? I cant seem to find em on digitalgravel

i cant find the t-shirt either (on digitalgravel)...does anyone know where i can get one too?

i think these idiots that made this shirt are some lame ass' fakes from somewhere like orange county where they had everything handed to them and are confused about what they are saying. i bet they can't even explain it... but its all good cuz it's all about the money...right!!!?

ur all stupid.hip hop's not dead.its only when people stop listening to hip hop is the only time it could ever die.only the makers of hip hop die, lol.

Regardless of what anyone says. I feel as though the South killed hip hop. I grew up on hip hop all my life and for the first time in 20 years, I gave up on it. I just listen to the ol skool stuff in my ipod.

Hey! this is not true.. Hip hop is not dead. just turn around and you see some people wear those hip hop clothing.but anyways i love the design of those shirts. looks very attractive. keep it up!
