I'm a New York hip-hop dude, down to my bones. I like my lyrics filled with metaphors and compound-rhymes twisted within rhymes.
However, as Ian has declared many times, New York hip-hop is dead. So's I'm trying to expand my horizons, and drop my East Coast rap arrogance. Two guys I'm checking for right now, based on the current hype are Slim Thug anf Young Jeezy. Today I'll talk about Slim and his new album, "Already Platinum."
Short story- this album is awesome. Slim uses his voice well, and his cooler-than-thou persona overflows through his music and makes you feel like a boss too. The beats are perfectly suited to to be bumped in your ride, and though Slim says the sound is a departure from his previous screwed up albums, the tracks sure do sound syrup dripping slow to me. Must be my unfamiliar New York ear.
So pick up the album. If ya'll already like his singles "I Ain't Heard That", "3 Kings", and "Like a Boss" then the rest of the disc won't disappoint.
this is a real solid album..havent heard the screwed and chopped bonus cd but this bumps..

Wait a Minute , AWESOME ?!! U Buggin, Nah U WYLIN !
Did you hear the original album (via bootleg)?
THAT album had his Swagger all over it & you could feel the authenticity of a grinder MIKE JONES STYLE
But THIS album is a REDONE , Rehashed, Remixed JOKE !
(except the Screw Disk. which is OK, but still not up to the usual standards)
You can actually tell that he REDID the vocals with a sense of DAM , I gotta DO this All OVER AGAIN !
I copped the Album, but Ill be listening to the Bootleg & The Screw CD
btw . . Im NYC East Coast & New York Hip Hop Died when we Accepted P.Diddy in our lives

Hey this thread is good. Slim has played well with his voice and made this album well. I hope no one can say any fault about this album.
