It's interesting this "disaster" has brought the black blog experience to light. I've got some heartfelt information on whats happening on the ground from a perspective I can relate to.

We'll see how our rap flavored mags deal with this whole affair. with hope the spotlight will for once focus on real (read poverty and awareness) issues from a hiphop perspective.

Yep, people are all over this topic. Over 80% of Google searches leading to my site contain the word "Katrina." Most are looking for the lyrics to Mos Def's Katrina Klap. People are hungry for info on Katrina and hungry to hear what the hip-hop community has to say about it as well.
