If you still buy CD's like I do, then you know the frustration of trying to get the disk out of the shrink wrapped case.
Allow me to ease your pain and enlighten your mind as I share with you a CD case opening trick that a worker at Fat Beats taught me. Follow these instructions:
- Rub the edge of the case that doesn't have a CD info sticker against the edge of a wall or desk. This will cleanly break the plastic.
- Slide off the shrink wrapped plastic.
- Unhinge the side of the CD case that doesn't have the info sticker. The plastic hinge bends far enough to come loose without breaking.
- Open up the case sideways. Now you'll be able to peel off the info sticker without a problem.
- While you're listening to your new music, or uploading it to your comp, re-attach the hinge back to the case
After you get used to the fact that you can unhinge the case without breaking it, you'll start opening cases trouble free, in 30 seconds or less.
meh I stopped buying CDs... the pricez are just ridiculous. I download illegally as a start, then if I like and respect it, I buy the album on vinyl. but those new dub disc thingz coming out look pretty damn hot!

Damn that's a long ting. I break and destroy the case with frustration more times. But that's still a long ting.

If I buy a CD, I'm not goin to open it becuz it's goin to be a classic album not worth opening.

That's a trick I learned when working at a music store. Whenever I do it in front of people, they always get this amazed look on their faces like "HOW DID YOU DO THAT???"
Bless the person who thought it up.

Everything you suggested worked for me. It took me a minute or two to understand, but once I did it all worked perfectly. Thank you.
I buy CDs because not all the classical music I want to get is available as a download for purchase, and I would never pirate (musicians deserve support not just lip service). So your method has ended one of life's frustrations for me. Thanks.

Googed and landed up here.
Neat-o!
Sick trick. Still building my CD collection. Find it so funny when people talk about buying off online... wonder how much they really like music. Ever lost a few Gigs of great music? had that moment when you couldnt share an itune with a friend? Im all for pirating music... UNTIL ifall in love with it.
Love music? Show it folks!
Yeah lets kill the middle man in the record biz .... but dont let it reach the artists .....

Thanks so much. All I had to do was rub the side of the case on my desk-- and presto it opened!!
