This is a good idea for a regular feature.

I saw, one time, that Kwame' had responded to XXL mag's "milk carton" thing.

Sorry I can't give you any info on Breed, though.

BIG O

Breed was hot for a second, don't really know what happened to him.

On another note, I really do want to get down with Hip Hop Blogs. My site is www.thabocks.com

Joey Pinkney

I have so many of these "Whatever happened to..." subjects in my head. I'm having a hard time not hitting y'all with a bunch of them. But I figure I'll spread them out.

I still have found out what DFC means, I remember reading an article or watching an interview on TV when Breed said the answer. I just can't remember what he said DFC was an acronym for.

Joey Pinkney

Yo! I had no idea that 2Pac's name was Leshane Parish Crooks. Nor did I know his mother name was Alice Faye Williams.

Just checked out thabocks.com.

Very interesting...

dame

Breed was in ATL as of 1999.. likely still here.

Inside info claimed he had a lightweight drug problem (read: yayo).

I used to see him in the Gentelemans Club in ATL (RIP).

DFC the crew had an album, caps get peeled, or something.. Ill MC Eiht track on there.

DFC = Da Flint Crew?

Just a guess.

Joey Pinkney

Yeah...ATL, strippers and yayo is not a good mix for anyone with an inkling of money, let alone a wad of cash from touring and/or royalty checks.

MC EIHT would be another "What happened to...", but I know for a fact he's still grinding. He's like Young Bleed to me: an original rapper that's riding that fine line of obscurity and notoriety.

Upon doing a little deepr research, I found that Dame's guess was right. DFC did stand for Da Flint Crew, but also Da Funk Crew and orginally Dope Flint Connection. The last one has old-school hiphop written all over it.

dame

Funny shit.

brittany

i really didnt read your journal but i just saw the word eminem

ian

"Ain’t No Future In Yo’ Frontin" is one of the greatest hip hop singles of all time - no joking. Breed was also on the last Slum Villgae album and sounded pretty fccking good. Dude still got it.

Joey Pinkney

Brittany, the word eminem draws my attention also. So does "Mama'nem".

Ian, I had no idea Slum Village and Breed could cross paths. Interesting...plus it's good? Double interesting.
