Though I have love for Beanie Sigel and hope his book publishing business takes off, this announcement from 50 Cent has me more hopeful about the future of "Street Fiction":
50 Cent will again turn his reality into fiction with a new line of hip-hop novellas and graphic novels featuring his former G-Unit rap crew buddies, a publisher announced. Pocket/MTV Books promised the venture would showcase "gritty" stories and cover much of the same terrain as 50 Cent's raps. "These tales will tell the truth about The Life; the sex, guns and cash; the brutal highs and short lives of the players on the streets," the publisher said in a release over the weekend.
Not too happy with the insistence that his G-Unit crew gets featured in the stories, but anything that shines more light on the genre is good.

you're kidding right?

Hard to believe you can support anything about 50 cent when his music promotes violence towards women, materialism, and gang violence. Am I misreading his lyrics?
I love hip-hop, but I love the potential it has to be an agent of positive change, not negative.

This is crazy they are giving him too much control over young minds. But big Up's to him though because he is giving out college scholarships.

My number is (229)291-2959. I'm located at 1202 Crawford Drive, Albany, Georgia. I wrote a urban fiction compelling novel called "FORT GREEN TRAPP OR DIE" it's similar to TALES OF THE HOOD. I need someone to help me publish my dream. I need an opportunity to get a good story out there. We haven't had a real gangsta movie or story been out since DEAD PRESIDENT, JUICE AND a few others. I would like to bring some old school stuff into place and bring into the new school stuff. I want to seed a query letter to you. I need your email.
