I didn't want to believe it when I saw the posts on MySpace and the IMs that I got throughout the day. I was planning to go to the listening party for his new "Donuts" album last night but couldn't make it.
Okayplayer and Stones Throw confirmed it, Rest In Peace to one of the best to ever work the boards. Condolences out to his family and friends.
The better side of hip hop won't be the same without you.
RIP Dilla. Sad thing is, Doughnuts is just a beat tape and still better than 90% of the cookie cutter production out these days...

You left us too soon, but we don't feel bad because your accomplishments made your life complete. You achieved goals in 32 years that others never reach in 70 years. All that to say, your life was not wasted.
Thank you for leaving us with your legacy.

Man, I wasn't even online much yesterday to even know about all this. It truly is sad though. Listening to the shoutcast tribute right now. One of the best out there for real. Let's honor him like he would want us to.....keep rocking his music.
I plan on getting Donuts and reviewing it March 1st. Bookmark the site link and check it out. R.I.P. Dilla.

i was moved to put together a tribute mix, available free as an mp3 at http://www.every-day-thoughts.blogspot.com. you can't cover every base with these things but i hope it stands as a tribute to the quality-in-diversity of jay's work. your comments appreciated.

Koch Entertainment Canada will donate $1.00 Canadian (86 cents U.S.) from the sale of each copy of J Dilla`s 'Donuts' CD sold in Canada to a fund set up for Dilla`s mother Maureen Yancey in order to off-set medical bills.
